"Raayat" should have been spelled "rakyat", which is Malay for "the people". I do not know how to change the original title of the article, so i hope someone does it to avoid confusion.
If I'm not mistaken, rakyat is a new spelling of the word introduced by the DBP to standardise the language; "raayat" is how I recall the word being spelt in older documents pre-independence.
