Puranmal is a jat king — Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.224.146.206 (talk) 08:07, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Pls learn as to how discussions are done on wiki. Rest you need to provide WP:RS sources for your point. The WP:RS sources including of Chandra, and one more mentioned calls him a Rajput ruler and that too a Rajput of probably Eastern belt. I don't know which history reference you are quoting to push your points. Provide WP: RS reference, just shouting Jat king here will not help your case. Thanks and Best ! Websites as sources[edit]

Someone recently added this as a source for the article. It is a local government website and the page purports to give the history of the area. Such sites are problematic, often showing folklore as fact, basing (or even literally copying) what unreliable British Raj authors published, and rarely being overseen by anyone with expertise in history. They also tend to glorify & to reflect government trends regarding the politicisation of history - eg as with the NCERT controversy and the "states" series of The People of India. They really are not sufficiently reliable for use on Wikipedia. - Sitush (talk) 10:23, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

On the other hand, there seem to be plenty of reliable academic sources which mention him - eg Dirk Kolff - so all is not lost. - Sitush (talk) 17:12, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
