Find a better photo?[edit]

I temporarily removed the photo from the taxobox because it was a shot of a diseased plant and therefore very misleading. Does Commons have a better shot maybe? Invertzoo (talk) 23:33, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Agree! The one photo shows leaves that are crumpled and misshapen because of disease or insect infestation - possibly aphids. Should not be used. 01:12, 12 January 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.35.167.72 (talk) 01:13, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Someone pointed out (2 1/2 years ago) that your picture File:Psychotria nervosa Florida.JPG looks diseased. That's still interesting but for different reasons. Could you explain what was going on with this plant? I'd like to add that to the caption instead of removing it as others would like.

I hope you don't mind that I have moved your post to here.
My image is File:Psychotria nervosa leaves.JPG. The plant is not mine. I went for a walk with my then-new Sony α7 II and popped in at the local botanical garden.
I see two possibilities here: (a) the plant was sick, or (b) I have mislabeled the image when I came home. In regards to (b) I managed to find the original image files on a harddisk, including the subsequent image with a picture of the small plant id label that does say "Psychotria nervosa". I'll be happy to send you both if you email me. Assuming the botanical garden did correctly identify the plant that leaves us with (a), but I would not be able to comment on that. I can follow up by going to the botanical garden and find the plant again and see how it looks now, but the garden is currently closed due to SARS-CoV-2 until the 17th.
