Tone tag[edit]

It looks like the tone tag requires some discusson on this page, and since there isn't any, I'm removing the tag. The article definitely needs to be cleaned up, so I'm going to also remove any non-wikipedia-like stuff I find. Fredsmith2 01:03, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lead section tag[edit]

I fixed up a lot of the stuff on here, and deleted out all of the non-wikipedia stuff, like the 2007 bout schedule. I found 3rd-part references for a lot of the info. Someone still needs to pull info from the lead section, and make a few different sections out of it. It's basically just a lead section, and it needs to be grouped better. League no longer USARS affiliated.[edit]

Many (but not all) WFTDA leagues have dropped their USARS sanctioning and use WFTDA Insurance. Per the list of current USARS member leagues, Providence Roller Derby is not listed amongst the USARS list of roller derby clubs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TimBRoy (talkcontribs) 08:54, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Board of Directors section[edit]

Aside from the directors themselves and the members of the league, how much of an interest in who makes up the league's board of directors is there? I can't find any other derby articles which contain a lengthy list of board members. Is there a need to detail the board membership for the entire history of the league? None of the information in this section has been cited, so it's been tagged accordingly.

The article should list notable things about the league and notable things the league has done. Participation in tournaments, charity benefits, etc are probably notable, if citable sources have deemed them worthy of note. TimBRoy (talk) 20:00, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think because the league also operates as an organization, the board of directors was included the same way it is included in Jordan's Furniture. However, I think that for the purposes of this article, listing the board of directors seems to be of a more promotional nature than of an informative one. Other lists of directors include noteworthy people (Jordan's Furniture lists Bill Gates, I believe).

I cannot provide documentation or reference from publication for this next bit of info, but Providence Roller Derby did experience a patch where the LLC was dissolved, and the league restructured shortly thereafter. If this can be cited/referenced, then I think it is a notable event and comparing old board positions to new ones may be informational and noteworthy. I think that in relation to interest in how a roller derby business functions, it may provide some insight for people researching the sport in its amateur and contemporary form.
