dates[edit]

There are written that protectorate was established in March 15th but in fact it was officially established in 16th March. Also German army invaded in March 14th and that day was fought the only regular battle between czechoslovak and german army so sentence that it was without shot is not valid. List of eridicated villages[edit]

Protectorate of Bohemia/Moravia[edit]

How much of the modern Czech republic (in km2 and mi2) was annexed each to Bavaria, Lower Austria, and Upper Austria? And what was the area of Bohemia, and of Moravia as a result of that annexation? --JamesR1701E (talk) 13:07, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deaths and losses[edit]

The count is a bit weird : « Czech losses resulting from political persecution and deaths in concentration camps totaled between 36,000 and 55,000 » « The Jewish population of Bohemia and Moravia (118,000 according to the 1930 census) was virtually annihilated …more than 70,000 were killed » « The extermination of the Romani population was so thorough that the Bohemian Romani language became totally extinct ».

Does it mean that the Jews and Romani people were not Czechoslovakian citizen ?

In this article Lety and Hodonín concentration camps it is said that « During the course of the war, a total of 4,831 Romani people from the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia were sent to Auschwitz concentration camp. Of those, few survived. »

The total losses seems to be between 36,000 « ethnic » Czech + 70,000 Jews + 4,800 Romanies ( 111,000 Czechoslovakian citizen ) and 120,000.

Am I right ?

Jewish holocaust in Prague and Tchecoslovakia[edit]

Does anyone know sources on that subject ? I am a bit skeptical about the statement that thousands of jews managed to hide and survive. Tchecoslovakia was not like France where the population actually protected most of the jewish population. I am skeptical of all the extermination claims and figures given in this article without any sources. I indicated a need for citations. I would just delete the unsourced claims, but that would probably get people upset. Giordano Bruno (talk) 04:40, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The first issue (March 1939) of paper currency in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, an unissued 1938 Republic of Czechoslovakia one koruna note originally intended for the Czech army. During the beginning of the German occupation of Czechoslovakia, an oval stamp was applied to the unissued 1938 stock of notes, identifying the currency as valid in the Protectorate. Repeated reinstatement of unsourced content[edit]

This doesn't apply here. This obvious fact was removed in some non-factual edit in recent time. If someone is not satisfied with the content of articles, they can add notification about unsourced material with proper date, which looks like this ^{[citation needed]}. Hi A.S. Brown, thanks for attempting to improve the article but I think the recent edits on the why and how Czechoslovakia was occupied is more relevant to occupation of Czechoslovakia. Buidhe, your're welcome! I was actually done on the economic background for why the occupation occurred. Maybe some of the material might be placed in the article that you suggested. I think the article should at least mention that the fundamental reasons for the occupation was economic. Czechoslovakia was the world's 7th economy and it played a critical role in the German war effort-which the article alluded to, but I think some more should said about that.
