I quite agree - there are too many of them anyway! Every article ever written can have additions, after all. And the website here makes it quite clear that Portslade is NOT a town. At the risk of upsetting someone, I've altered both Peter Shearan 11:53, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
in addition there is no mention of any town council for Portslade. Peter Shearan 12:09, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It does, however, have a town hall, on Victoria Road. Morwen - Talk 12:11, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I used to live in Portslade-by-Sea (NOT "by the seaside") and it DID used to have its own council. It was merged with the Borough og Hove sometime in the 1970's, which in turn was absorbed into the "city of Brighton and Hove". Indeed, the road bordering the original towns of Hove and Portslade has a different name for each side as the original boundary ran down the middle of the road. The Portslade side is called "Station Road", the Hove side is called "Boundary Road". [[[User:Fork me|Fork me]] 22:46, 25 March 2006 (UTC)]
