Which is the correct scientific name?[edit]

1) The Reptile Database and the French WP article list this species as "Plectrurus perroteti Duméril, Bibron & Duméril, 1854".

2) Boulenger (1893) and Dahms Tierleben use the scientific name "Plectrurus perroteti Duméril & Bibron, 1854".

3) This WP article, Wikispecies, and ITIS use "Plectrurus perrotetii Duméril, 1851".

4) The French WP article has a link to a PDL version of Duméril, Bibron & Duméril (1854) which shows the scientific name as "Plectrurus Perroteti. Nobis." ("Nobis" means "by us" in Latin).

So, is the correct ending "-i", or "-ii"? For the binomial authority, should it be "D.", "D. & B.", or "D., B. & D."? And which year is right -- 1851 or 1854? I realize that when there is a conflict, WP usually goes by ITIS. However, in this particular case, I think ITIS may be in error. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.236.213.217 (talk) 02:28, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
