Cleanup[edit]

This dab page was marked for cleanup per MoS:DAB. Because my edit was reverted, I'll make my intentions clear. Nothing was deleted except:

  • The mechanical component of a fuse in a bomb or torpedo responsible for firing the detonator -- replaced by Magnetic pistol
  • Pistols at Dawn Films is an independent film company from the UK [1] -- deleted for being an ad and violating WP:DAB#Lists
  • In some English dialects, any human with a particular type of mentality:
    • In Shakespeare, (e.g. used for Falstaff): a creative and unpredictable jokester, a constant source of entertainment and surprises
    • In the south of the USA, a small boy who is bright, alert, and very active -- deleted because this is a dab page, i.e. because these entries didn't "resolve conflicts in article titles that occur when a single term can be associated with more than one topic." Instead of losing them, I moved them to wikt:pistol and added the usual wiktionary link on this dab page.
  • "Pistol Pete" can be:-
    • A nickname of the tennis player Pete Sampras.
    • A nickname of the basketball player Pete Maravich.
    • A Disney character who appeared in several of the Mickey Mouse cartoons; he is also the father of Pistol on the TV series Goof Troop. --all replaced by Pistol Pete in the "See also" section

I'll revert back to my edit now unless someone can point out where my assessment was way wrong. (And then a simple edit might work out better than simply reverting back to a version that was marked for cleanup.) – sgeureka tc 20:30, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Support. (I'll just tweak the section formatting.) --maf 21:03, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
