some missing stuff: He was married four times, but I can't find the maiden names of his first two wives. [1] m. 1947 Renee, by whom he had three children, Marc (who committed suicide by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge), Suzanne(who passed away of cancer in 1995 and left behind twin boys), and Stephen. they divorced (when) [2] m. 1957 Nancy Joy; they divorced 1965 [3] m. 1989 Nicole Gillmann; they divorced 1988, by whom he had a son Gregory. [4] m. (when) Nicole Beuvilain de Menthon, known as "Poppy" to distinguish her from the third wife. and tidbits from this interesting interview, including a speech he wrote to accept the nomination to run for president (a speech he had no need for: "The minute I announce my candidacy, the media will leap upon my past and ferret out whatever they can about my private life.

"Well, I've decided to save them the considerable amount of time they would have to spend on this issue. Here is the truth. From the early 1950s until 1983, I had dozens -- no, scores of mistresses. While campaigning for United States senator from California in 1964 I made love practically every night with the wife of a famous American actor. While in the White House, on several occasions, President Kennedy encouraged me to take a lover, an obvious sign he also had some himself. In France, a country where the majority of men have mistresses, I happily embraced the French mentality.

Also, in his book he names one mistress of LBJ: Salinger's secretary, who had also filled that position for him....

I'm just curious if anyone knows who Salinger thought actually did the bombing. Seems relevant considering the recent release of Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi.--Cdogsimmons (talk) 22:17, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
