History[edit]
This article could use some info on the history of the unit. I assume it was associated with the cgs system (and added that to the article). I assume the unit is now largely obsolete, since I had never encountered it, but I didn't want to add that without more direct evidence.--Srleffler (talk) 02:19, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
