Full name[edit]

BNB gives his surname as "de Glymes", but that has been removed from the article. Is there a reason for this? --Andreas Philopater (talk) 18:12, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Because, you need to follow the consistancy if his nephew is called de Berghes, tha the same goes for everyone of that generation.--Carolus (talk) 21:26, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Why do we have to impose an anachronistic notion of consistency on something that has historically been relatively fluid? We don't anachronistically give married women their brother's surname, to take only the most obvious example of retrospectively trying to shoehorn things into sameness. --Andreas Philopater (talk) 21:51, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Then we do not need a surname anymore, why do we need wikipedia then?--Carolus (talk) 22:02, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
