Shanahan's Statement recovered from Article[edit]

Parts of the following may yet be incorporated in Article, so I've put them here for time being.

- - My name is Phil Shanahan, I was born and raised in Tipperary but currently reside in the UK. The aforementioned Phil Shanahan T.D was my great grand uncle. My father Raymond Shanahan has completed a well-researched family tree and to our knowledge Phil Shanahan did not have any children nor was he ever married. All information currently available along with first hand accounts passed down from my great grandfather and grandfather suggests that we do not have a link to the Dunne family.

- - Taken the above into account I ask Mr Dunne to provide evidence to support his claim that Phil Shanahan T.D is his great grandfather. It would be a great shame if his entire family tree were made incorrect because he has the “wrong” Phil Shanahan as his great grandfather. It would also be a great shame to ignore the possibility that an unknown branch of the Shanahan family exists; therefore I keep an open mind.
