Surely there are other statues of Peter Pan / called "Peter Pan" (even Peter Pan (Columbus, Ohio)) -- should we somehow disambiguate this one from others? ---Another Believer(Talk) 01:41, 9 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
How about Peter Pan statue (Frampton), actually less words and contains the real name of the statue. This covers everything but the city. Randy Kryn (talk) 20:33, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm ok with that. Johnbod (talk) 21:01, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not keen on there being three different conventions in use for public sculpture – "Statue of Peter Pan (Frampton)", "Peter Pan statue (Frampton)" and "Peter Pan (Frampton)". The first style is intended for portrait sculptures of individuals in public places, according to the current draft wording at WT:VAMOS. That's not really what this sculpture is, so I now think I'd prefer Peter Pan (Frampton), along the same lines as Newton (Paolozzi), which is also in multiple versions. Ham II (talk) 07:42, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm - actually Newton seems to be a unique cast, with a "model" in the Tate, cast "from the model made to show the Library committee". Not sure that matters really. Johnbod (talk) 12:24, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I did mean to interrupt your discussion here a while ago, but deleted the comment before I say something I regret. Let me just say, this statue was commissioned by Barrie. It is the Peter Pan statue. (And can someone please resurrect the reference formatting that someone removed. And it is a stump, not a trunk. And there is a plaque. And, crivens, "some controversy", WTF?! ... damn, at risk of losing my temper again.) Theramin (talk) 01:44, 25 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Theramin, yes, it is, in an ideal world, but then this one popped up. As the initiating author you know the topic, what would you prefer as a name? Thanks. Randy Kryn (talk) 03:24, 25 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Let me toss in Peter Pan (London) as long as the Columbus statue has its concise accurate title. Randy Kryn (talk) 03:29, 25 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm with Theramin on the sculpture commissioned by Barrie being the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, if we opt for the "Statue of Peter Pan" or "Peter Pan statue" phrasing. It's a sculpture in multiple editions (the one in London is the prime version) so Peter Pan (Frampton) is preferable to Peter Pan (London). Ham II (talk) 05:28, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
