What is the image File:Pegaret Keeling c1943.jpg, which isnt free, trying to demonstrate? It doesnt demonstrate the work in question or the artistic genre or the school to which the artist belongs from what I can see. Depending on an answer to these question we may have to remove the image from this page which is about the artist and there is not even a mention of the painting in the text. ♫ SqueakBoxtalkcontribs 01:03, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have moved the image to a Gallery section as demonstrating the type of work for which she is best known, i.e. watercolour paintings of war workers during WWII, representative examples of which are in important national collections, including the Imperial War Museum. Additionally, the image was removed from the page before I had a chance to put a case for retaining it. Jack1956 (talk) 14:56, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The latter isnt true, you had more than 36 hours and I did check your contribs and you were still editing during that time, its vital to the project that images are only displayed in accordance with their copyright status and I could have removed it immediately instead of giving you more than 36 hours of grace. As far as I am aware the image as currently displayed does fulfill its copyright conditions though if others disagree they should remove it, I am no expert on the subject though I know enough to see that the image as it was being displayed failed to match its copyright status. ♫ SqueakBoxtalkcontribs 15:01, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
in that case I did not notice the notification of the proposed deletion. It is usual in such cases to put notification of such a proposal on the uploaders Talk Page so they are aware of it and can respond accordingly. Don't just assume that editors are constantly checking Talk Pages on the chance there might be a comment there; point it out. Jack1956 (talk) 17:11, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It wasnt just aimed at you but at any interested editors. I would only be required to inform you personally if I was trying to get the image deleted. This isnt your article anyway but I had assumed you used your watchlist, which isnt the same as constantly checking talk pages at all, you were quick enough off the mark when the image itself got removed, anyway no harm done♫ SqueakBoxtalkcontribs 17:22, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
