Payments Council replaced by new organisation[edit]

Hello

Can you please update this article to reflect that the Payments Council has now been replaced by Payments UK, the new trade association for the UK payments industry.

Here's the press release: http://www.paymentsuk.org.uk/news-events/news/payments-uk-launches-become-new-voice-industry

As I work for this organisation, I'm cautious about making any changes myself.

Also, is it possible to set up a new entry for Payments UK, its successor body? Happy to help if there isn't enough info on the website: www.paymentsuk.org.uk

just the one organization. Light2021 (talk) 20:05, 28 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose on the grounds that there was not just a name change. The former Payments Council had its powers and scope shared between the Payment Systems Regulator and Payments UK, so the direction of any merge is not at all possible. Regulatory and trade-representative functions are sufficiently disparate that I think that a merge would be counterproductive. Klbrain (talk) 10:19, 20 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
