This article reads like an add for the pay-for-parking industry. There is no mention of the wide criticism that this industry receives, nor the inclusivity issues caused by the removal of cash payment options. - I have tried to fix the first issues but have accidentally made the UK-centric problem worse I think. That is where I found most sources talking about pay-by-phone services in English Greenking2000 (talk) 13:56, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
Disadvantages[edit]
This article does not currently mention any disadvantages. One criticism in the UK media is that if an app is required alternatives are not provided, it would be a disadvantage for elderly or disabled drivers who may be less likely to own a smartphone. Tk420 (talk) 21:01, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
Rewrite[edit]
I have rewritten the page to use the standard advantages/disadvantages format and hopefully sound less like an advert for the pay-by-phone industry as @2A00:23C5:F581:4C01:CA1:E333:56E7:F05E mentioned. Though I have unfortunately made it even more UK-centric in doing so. Additions from other places around the world would be much appreciated.
I also added some more advantages and disadvantages mentioned in the UK media though again that has the issue of being quite UK-centric. I debated removing "For motorists pay-by-phone parking is more convenient and timely than standard methods of parking payment as cash is not required unlike a parking meter." as it sounds like an advert and has no source but I think I have changed too much without discussion anyway and so left it in.
Rewriting the Enforcement section would probably be good too "Pro: simple setup, easy ramp-on. Con: complex operations, failure prone." and such doesn't read much like an encyclopaedia and again has no sources for anything. Greenking2000 (talk) 13:55, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
