Copyright issues[edit]

The entire "History" section—that is, six of the seven paragraphs in this article—appears to have been taken verbatim from this Kansas Historical Society page. There is a copyright-2010 notice at the bottom of the KHS page. There is a citation at the end of the six copied paragraphs, but this doesn't strike me as sufficient to avoid copyright violation.

My own inclination is to delete all of the content and replace the article with a quick stub. I'm currently working on a major expansion of Pike-Pawnee Village Site, and a lot of the research that I've done for that will carry over to this article. I expect to be working on the Pike-Pawnee article for at least another couple of weeks, at the end of which I can turn to expanding my proposed stub version of this article. In the process of doing that, I'll Wikify the article and write a proper lead section.
