File:Paul Papp.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion[edit]

An image used in this article, File:Paul Papp.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

October 2013[edit]

Dear IP editor(s),

At first, although it is not necessary to edit wikipedia, I'd highly appreciate if you'd register an account, thus making the communication easier and making you available to take the responsibility for your actions.

Focusing on the articles – this and the Florin Gardos one, which I also inserted here to keep the discussion in one place –, the Prosport article is clear: its last paragraph says "Hungarian national team coach has an eye/pays attention on three more major Liga I players, who are of Hungarian origin; Paul Papp, Florin Gardos and Laszlo Sepsi, however, all three already made its debut in the Romanian national team, therefore selecting them [in the Hungarian national team] is impossible." Twisting the words, like "according to the site" – it was not a guess by them or their editors, it was given as fact, which was taken over by a number of reliable sites –, and "could have Hungarian origins" – it was not given conditionally in the article – are definitely are against the wiki policy. Let me cite this: "[Wikipeida's] content is determined by previously published information rather than the beliefs or experiences of its editors. Even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it."

Additionally, remarks like "Florin is a Romanian name from what I know." or "Descendency is a better term than origin." are completely wrong. The first one is just a guess, and has nothing to do with the information in question (could be even a Martian name, doesnt matter), while the second clearly goes against the cited source ("origini maghiare").

You also questioned other sources – you singled out the Szabadság one, stating there are nothing about the topic in them – well, they were given, in the right place, to confirm how his name is in Hungarian, and how it appears in the Hungarian language media. Blindly removing them has just simply no reason and makes no sense.

Closing my words on the topic, please, refrain from removing sourced contents, or change/rewrite them arbitrarily just to suit your taste, or whatever reason. If you have sources, that state otherwise, present them, if you don't, please stick to the information given in the cited articles. Thanks.

As a side note, I'd like to draw your attention – and the other IP editors involved, being it you or someone other –, that calling someone a "Hungarian nazi" is a clear harassment. Please, comment on content, not on contributor. Things like that, or other actions, like this won't lead anywhere, even more, personal attacks might have serious consequences.

Since you appear to be new on wikipedia, I suggest you to get familiar with its main pillars, explore it yourself, or get an adopter, who will help you to understand the rules and will make your stay on wikipedia a real fun. Jumping straight into an edit war is definitely not the best way to start a wikipedia career. Have a happy day,

I also would like to ask the anonymous editor to explain his/her issues here before removing sourced statements. KœrteFa {ταλκ} 17:43, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
