The village was facing the fear of migration after the construction of the Punasi dam. The inhabitants originally could not migrate, and they challenged the proposal to construct the dam firmly in court, but some of the women took part in judicial proceedings. Tag removed. Two things: first, didn't some people believe the rapes to have occurred as retaliation as stated in §Incident (A few civilians stated that the rapes were in retaliation for the assault of a police constable a few days earlier.)? No, this is the only mass rape in pararia which is widely covered in various books.But, date should be in title as there are lot of incidents in bihar on which article are written and its for chronology purpose.
Backward mean Other Backward Class a classification of communities based on socio-economic background by government of India.
Booked used in the sense of Charge, they were released due to lack of evidence and judicial misconduct.
