Question about lede[edit]

Was this house the largest private residence in the city or just on the North Side? If the former, there should be a comma bewteen "Illinois" and "located." Chick Bowen 00:52, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

US Grant[edit]

We are told that,

"The Palmer Mansion was used for many social gatherings, including entertaining former U. S. President Ulysses S. Grant, during his visit to the city...."

This needs some proof. The house was finished in 1885. Grant died in July, 1885, of throat cancer, in New York. It seems unlikely that he was in Chicago that year. . . Jim - Jameslwoodward (talk to mecontribs) 19:19, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Demolition date?[edit]

This article gives two different years of demolition. First we see 1951, then 1950. However, various sites I've checked don't agree--some give 1950, others 1951. Maybe only the City of Chicago would have the definitive date.
