Notability?[edit]

Regarding the notability tag on the article, it can be noted that there are several references in the article, as well as a number of descriptions of the person as "a prominent church leader and activist" (https://www.telegraphindia.com/states/north-east/meghalaya-hopes-for-mine-rescue/cid/1680286), "KJEPC convener P B M Basaiawmoit" (http://www.indiaenvironmentportal.org.in/content/23985/tribals-oppose-uranium-mining/), "P.B.M. Basaiawmoit, a Presbyterian Church member and former vice-president of the National Council of Churches in India" (https://www.worldwatchmonitor.org/2018/03/good-friday-holiday-reinstated-in-christian-majority-indian-state-after-protests/), etc. --Soman (talk) 14:29, 21 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for the kind comments. I have reviewed the sources above. He fails WP:NPOL as this politician never won any major election. Only passing mentions / comments and news of contesting election are not WP:SIGCOV either. So I do not agree with removing the notability tag. Clearly we seem to disagree so I would let the community decide his notability at AfD. --DBigXray 14:42, 21 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
