Chicago shrine[edit]

The original image was burned but the second was spared. St. Hedwig Church's an hour and a half basement fire (April 9, 2008, underneath the altar) burned a 15 feet by 3 feet hole, but there were no injuries.[1] The fire also charred the orignal image of the Chicago shrine of Our Lady of Manaoag, but a second image which was miraculously spared. The original statue was first brought to Chicago 17 years ago.[2] --Florentino floro (talk) 06:48, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merging to Manaoag article[edit]

Perhaps it would be best if all the context of this article were to be transferred to Manaoag, Pangasinan. All that's said here pertains entirely to something of the municipality. 202.69.189.25 (talk) 12:38, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. Discussions of a religious vision and miracles don't really belong in a municipality article.   Will Beback  talk  14:44, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose too. Same rationale.--JL 09 q?c 08:24, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I oppose your suggesiton. Neutrality should not be compromised. We have added an additional detail highlighting the reason why the town is famous, and a link leading for more information. Religious articles should not be merged with municipality information due to their differing informa. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.148.213.201 (talk) 19:15, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Manaoag Church Elevated to Minor Basilica two times?[edit]

According to the article the Shrine of Our Lady of Manaoag was elevated to minor Basilica on 2011 by Pope Benedcit XVI. However this latest source says that the shrine is elevated to minor basilica on February 17 2015 by Pope Francis becoming the only minor basilica of the town and in Pangasinan. Also it would make sense if a separate article for the church itself is made--Hariboneagle927 (talk) 02:44, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
