What about Ostrea lurida[edit]

...which is also the "Olympia Oyster", though Olympia Oyster redirects to this article? The two articles need to be revised from a recent point-of-view.--Wetman (talk) 02:22, 4 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You are quite right Wetman! I changed the redirect, and I also greatly changed the two articles. Invertzoo (talk) 23:15, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Changes[edit]

Today, thanks to info from User:Brianhe, and on the basis of a 2009 paper in BioOne, Journal of Shellfish Research, reporting some molecular research, I worked a great deal on this article and on the article for Ostrea conchaphila which are now understood to be separate species, the former more northerly in its distribution than the latter. Bothe articles could use more work, but at least I made a start at cleaning them both up. Invertzoo (talk) 23:11, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
