Notability[edit]

This is an early story by an acclaimed writer. It does not seem to have received much critical attention except in complete collections of Nabokov's stories, where perforce they have to say something. If I am mistaken and there is significant discussion of this work outside of such venues, then could you please provide the appropriate citations in the article.
