Founder[edit]

An issue that arose in a recent RfD - this article credits the Duchess of Hamilton with being the founder of this organization, based on a BBC article in turn apparently based on an interview with the current Lady Hamilton about the family's long interest and involvement in animal rights. All seems straightforward until we look at the organization's own web site, where they give a historical timeline that reports that in 1911, the Society that would become OneKind was "founded by the Ivory sisters". Sure looks like Lady Hamilton was puffing up her mother-in-law's role at the expense of precission (the Duchess was an early officer, being promoted from #2 to head of the organization in 1918, so perhaps one of the original officers in 1911). Normally I would go with the BBC as a more reliable source than a self-published web site, but I think in this case OneKind would be in a better position to accurately report their own history than Lady Hamilton.
