Ideas for improvement[edit]

I think that this article is close to a B class article and with a little bit more work could probably be promoted from start to a B. Some suggestions for improvement might be:

  • Coverage: is there any information on where the subject went to school and what his parents' names were? Also when mentioning the fighting in the Roktino Swamps, could further information be added on who he was fighting (I think it was the Russians, but not sure) and what he did to receive his Iron Cross?
  • Referencing: almost there, in my opinion. In fact, I think it fulfills this criteria, however, just to be sure you might like to make sure that every paragraph or assertion that might be challenged has an inline citation (I think there is one paragraph without, but it would probably pass for a B without it - depends upon who does the review). Also, as a side point, you might consider consolidating the in line citations using the WP:NAMEDREFS system, this just means that the notes section looks a little tidier (that's just my opinion);
  • Writing style/grammar: the prose possibly needs a copy edit. Would it be possible to tighten up the writing? There are a number of one or two sentence paragraphs that could possibly be consolidated so that the article flowed a little better; finally
  • Images: are there any images that could be added? A picture of the subject, or the type of plane he flew? It might be hard to obtain, though, so it is not necessary but it would certainly add to the article if they could be added.

Just a few ideas. Interesting subject - so very young to have achieved what he did. Once you think you might like a re-assessment, please include the article name at WP:MHA. Also, if you would like more in-depth feedback, please add the article to the list for peer review at WP:MHPR. Hope this helps. AustralianRupert (talk) 07:16, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
