Notable alumni[edit]

Come one guys, notable alum? Looks to me like those entries were added by the people themselves. Let's not kid each other -- 15 THOUSAND students each year receive national merit scholarships, and being part of the 2004 Championship Soccer team doesn't make you a notable alum. Many of the players on professional teams aren't even listed on Wikipedia. Anyway, i'm going to remove those two entries. Please, next time you want to pat yourself on the back, don't do it in an encyclopedic publication. Archtemplar 22:16, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed some more self-congratulation: James MacKenzie and Jake Anderson were members of the class of 2005 and their band certainly isn't "world-famous". Masily box 16:03, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It would be useful if more alumni were found who are truly notable. One criterion is whether the alumni have bios on Wikipedia -- since Wikipedia itself has a "notability" standard.~~Mack2~~ 17:43, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Actually, that is the only criteria. A person must meet the notability standard for a Wikipedia biography and their attendance at the school must be shown either by referenced content in their bio or a reference here. John from Idegon (talk) 14:53, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Athletic championships[edit]

I added a list of state champion and finalist (runner up) teams to the article. This is always a high level of achievement for a school and thus notable. I hope somebody will look for other areas in which it's possible to document the quality of the school, including in academics.~~Mack2~~ 17:43, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Athletic championships, part two[edit]

As school article guidelines dictate that only state champ teams be listed, I have removed the runners up. See WP:SCH/AG.

Recently, some photos and claims of championships were added for girl's water polo. Firstly, team pictures of two championship teams out of the many many champs this school has had is not really appropriate (see WP:UNDUE). Secondly, water polo is not a sanctioned sport, so any mention of it should be included in activities, not athletics. Thirdly, any claim of championship must be referenced to a reliable, independent source. Thanks. John from Idegon (talk) 14:49, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
