Name[edit]

I don't think uprising is the best word here. Sabotage or diversion would likely be better. Relevant category is likely Category:World War II sabotage. Thoughts? @Marcelus @Dreamcatcher25 @Olek Novy Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:03, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

OUN diversion during the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany and Soviet Union of 1939? Marcelus (talk) 10:17, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Marcelus OUN diversion during the invasion of Poland would be enough I think... Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 12:24, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And diversion is not good English. OUN sabotage during the invasion of Poland? Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 12:25, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, military diversion is something else than Polish dywersja, which is closer to the sabotage. Seems like English doesn't have a separate name for the fifth collumn actions, aimed at destruction of their infrastructure. What do you think about OUN armed sabotage during the invasion of Poland? Marcelus (talk) 14:00, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What about insurgence? There were some actions by the Ukrainians to capture some cities Olek Novy (talk) 12:01, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Olek Novy It was not large scale, but there was something going beyond pure sabotge. Hmmm. What do the sources say? The only one I see in heading is "rebellion" from https://www.rp.pl/kraj/art13494901-rok-1939-rebelia-na-kresach. OUN rebellion during the invasion of Poland? Would be good to get something more academic than a newspaper... Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 12:28, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Uprising and Rebellion technically have the same meanings. Considering the fact that there was alot of planning for such an event, the name should stay the same. Olek Novy (talk) 12:51, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Olek Novy, @Piotrus: both "uprising" and "rebellion" suggest something spontaneous, while OUN actions were steered by Nazi Germany Marcelus (talk) 14:04, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
