- Lebanon had the first railway in the Arab world when a line was opened between Beirut and Damascus on August 3, 1895 using steam locomotives.
Nonsense. The 1st railway line in Egypt opened in 1855 --Dieter Zoubek (talk) 17:24, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
