Mention of the Revere section needs an update. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.110.160.80 (talk) 16:31, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not just a Rail Trail[edit]

FYI there are portions of the overall Trail which are not on the RoW of the railroad. I believe I've just done a reasonable job of making that clear, but I'm open to suggestions!

There's hardly a rail trail out there that doesn't have some off-railroad-ROW portions. I think it's reasonable to call it a rail trail - greater than 80% of the final mileage will be on railroad bed - and just note that the planned extension is over streets. "Link to" taken to mean "extend" in context of Swampscott 2020[edit]

In the case of the Swampscott "linear park which will link to the Northern Strand" I feel that it's reasonable to include this here until / unless that Swampscott extension is shown to be named differently.

Citation found for Swampscott[edit]

Swampscott does indeed have a Northern Strand section, which is to be linked to Lynn. Added ref just now, from Boston MPO North Shore Task Force.

Great, thanks for that! I wasn't aware that the trail on the Marblehead Branch would be considered part of the Northern Strand. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 17:27, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
To be fair... I suppose Swampscott could decide to name it something other than Northern Strand, but in my searching just now I couldn't find anything that conclusively or even indirectly said that they will, and that document from the MPO I believe can be considered authoritative at least until/unless something else is uncovered.
