• Oppose on multiple grounds. First, both spellings (with a dash or without) are grammatically correct, and in the absence of a compelling reason the spellings selected by the original contributors are to be retained. Second, all these articles are mostly unrelated to one another; there is no one unifying guideline under which they can be moved, and each needs to be looked at individually. Third, the premise that just because disambig pages are called the certain way (without a dash) means that all of the articles listed on those disambig pages must be titled using the same spelling preference is false. And since no other good reasons exist to make these spellings uniform, they should simply be left alone.         • With all due respect, it doesn't. While "southwest" and "south-west" (just an arbitrary example) might be interchangeable on many (if not most) occasions, the latter is more common in Commonwealth English while the former—in American English. For example, for Botswana (a former member of the Commonwealth), the "south-west" spelling makes more sense, while for something like Russia it usually makes no difference whatsoever. With Moscow's administrative okrugs, this means that whatever spelling the original author felt up to using, that's the spelling that should be retained (if only to prevent silly revert wars). My additional point was that since "South-Western" in South-Western Administrative Okrug is capitalized in Russian, it makes it a part of the proper name; hence it makes more sense to retain the dash as it is a part of that proper name and not just a generic indication of an ordinal direction. There is, after all, a difference between "South-Western Administrative Okrug" (a proper name) and "an administrative okrug in south-western/southwestern Moscow" (just a mention of the direction). Same goes for the rest of the administrative okrugs of Moscow. Similar provisions may or may not exist for other entities in your to-move list, which is why I keep pointing out that it would make more sense to review each one on individual basis.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 21:01, January 15, 2010 (UTC)

Very strong oppose: utter balderdash, if you don't mind my saying. As for the Russian I'm inclined to believe Ëzhiki; as for the subcontinent, the forms currently given at the articles are always used and are the official names and have been since the Raj. In particular I can not understand why you listed the North-West Frontier Province and at the bottom of the list to boot. This is one of the provinces of Pakistan and in the international news every day as the "NWFP". If some of the articles are misnamed, they can be discussed separately, as Ëzhiki suggested. —innotata (Talk • Contribs) 01:16, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
