I know it doesn't help but if I correctly recall it came with the same standard ringtones of most Nokia phone in this vintage eg 5190, 5160, 5110. Default was the Nokia tone we are all familiar with. The TDMA variants can get ringtones via RTTL in SMS. I do not recall what ringtone capacity the GSM variants had. 8250 differences[edit]

This may be just nit-picking, but the listed games says "Memory, Snake, Logic and Rotation". I have an old 8250, which has Memory, Snake, Logic and Opposite (Reversi). Should this be listed in the Variants section? Stephen Angelico (talk) 10:32, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Design flaws? Replaceable covers? Picture messages?[edit]

The article states that the "Nokia '82XX' series suffered from several design flaws, among them a tendency to develop 'screen fade' in which the connector for the display would shrink and figures on the display would become so dim that it was impossible to read them."

I had a Nokia 8260, the TDMA variant of the 8210. In fact, I had two, because the first one was stolen and replaced by insurance with an identical new phone. Neither of them had the slightest fault. The 8260/8270 were incredibly popular here at the time, I knew lots of other people who had them as well, and they all loved their phones and had no complaints. Nor do I remember reading any such complaints in the press at the time. In fact, this article was the first time I ever saw those alleged problems mentioned. I was tempted to remove that unsubstantiated claim, but decided to put it under discussion first. At the very least, whoever put that claim there (I was unable to locate it in the edit history for this article) may be generalizing some problem that possibly randomly happened to him/her.

Also, my phone did not have user-replaceable covers and did not support picture messages (its display was monochromatic and low-resolution, so I don't know how that could even be possible).
