NPOV and EL clean-up[edit]

I removed WP:NPOV items, and the "External links" section (see WP:EL). I also removed the reference to "Bird of Cuzco" from the opening paragraph because it's listed under "Compilations". --Horse Badorties 14:14, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the stuff can go back on there with citations (Nastasia definitely was a favorite of Peel, but the backing might be on-air only); however I don't understand why you cut all the external links, it's far beyond WP:EL since there were official sites on there and 4 links is far from a link farm, especially in an article classed as a stub and still growing. I agree that if something is cited, it could be there. The problem is, none of what I removed was cited. I've heard others say that she was a favorite of Peel's, so it seems that it should be verifiable -- if there was an interview with him where he said that, for instance.
Regarding the external links, it's not that it was a "link farm", but that the links violated either WP:EL, which states in part that links to be avoided are: "to social networking sites (such as MySpace)..."; or WP:ADVERT, which states in part: "Articles considered advertisements include those that are ... designed to promote a company or individual." --Horse Badorties 02:19, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's "articles" meaning Wikipedia articles, not external websites. WP:ADVERT deals with adverts masquarading as Wikipedia articles, not to external link issues, which are dealt with at WP:EL. The idea that we cannot link to the subject's own website because it "promotes" that individual is ludicrous, and not what the WP:ADVERT above quote refers to.FrFintonStack (talk) 02:10, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
