Quisqueyanos valientes is not the name[edit]

I don't know who invented that but Emilio Prud'homme name the National Anthem simply "Himno Nacional", never Quisqueyanos valientes. You can consult all the publications of Prud'homme or the Law that names his lyrics as the National Anthem. --66.98.78.18 04:54, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This page needs to improve its accuracy. The first time this song was played was on August 17, 1883, at a freemason's lodge called "Esperanza No. 9" (in english, "Hope # 9) where Jose Reyes was the Worshipful Master. -- Ultrafan.

Is there a sound file for this?[edit]

How can I listen to the national anthem if there is no link to sound file? Sam 12:53, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, here are three links: http://www.27febrero.com/HimnodeRD.mp3 http://www.27febrero.com/HimnoNacionalCompleto.ra http://www.27febrero.com/Himno1instrumental.mp3

I'll try to add them to the article —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.98.87.23 (talk) 01:13, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name changed[edit]

I changed the name of the anthem from "Quisqueyanos valientes" to "Himno Nacional". Prud'homme named his poem just "Himno Nacional" and the law uses that name. I do not know who invented the name "Quisqueyanos valientes". You can consult the Comisión Nacional de Efemérides Patrias about that. They are trying to open a website; as soon as the Comisión opens that website, I will put the address here so you could see why I changed the name. And somebody could redirect this article to a new one ("Himno nacional" or "Dominican national anthem", I prefer the first one). --Pepemar2 (talk) 20:20, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Translation to English Corrections[edit]

I will refer to the 2nd stanza, 1st paragraph, 4th line.

The line “que cubiertos de gloria se ven” should be translated to “ Which covered in glory ARE seen” instead of “… WERE seen”. It refers to the battlefields of Las Carreras and Beler which are now covered in glory. Read previous line in spanish. WOWLWOWL 18:19, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
