Anatole trilogy[edit]

From the LC catalog I have retrieved some bibliographic data (some of it hidden in the code) for the Anatole trilogy, which probably deserves its own section of prose and data. Those books were 72, 120, and 120 pages, illus. black and white. I infer b&w and don't know where they fall between picture books and novels. --P64 (talk) 16:09, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

One year later I started a section that merely identifies Harcourt and McPhail as publisher and illustrator of all three books. What should be covered?
1. what or who is Anatole? what is the nature of these three books jointly?
2. of biographical interest: was the first also her first children's book (as Selected works suggests)? her first (or first prose) with Harcourt (or any major publisher)? a breakthru in some other respect? --]

First novel[edit]

(quote) "Her first novel,[clarification needed] Things Invisible to See (1985), ..."

My hidden comment is "first for adults? or had she written none for children?"

Childhood of the magician (A Liveright new writer, 1973) in LCCat; 244pp --what's this? neither for children nor a novel, we imply.

Childhood of the magician Kirkus Reviews --huh? the title and most of this review suggest a children's novel. Is it a collection of short stories with continuing characters? or is the cited "Theo's Girl" a chapter of the book?
