Szollos

According to nakovo.org the name is Szollos. It is derived from Hungarian word Szőllős (in english vineyard) and it is without umlauts, while the Serbs pronounce and write Szőllős as Seleš.

No, the Latin name is not best choice because during the Ottoman rule Latin was not official language and village had Serb ethnic majority. This is Serbia and this deserbianization of Serbian names for ethnic Serbian villages is unacceptable. PANONIAN (talk) 22:12, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

"grammatical errors"

For anonymous user: you did not changed only grammatical errors but also meaning of the sentence. Changing of "In the first half of the 18th century, this village did not existed any more" into "In the first half of the 18th century, the village ceased to exist" is wrong because "your" version of the sentence claim that village ceased to exist in the 18th century, but that was not meaning of the original sentence. The mening of the original sentence was that village did not existed in the 18th century, but that does not mean that it ceased to exist exactly in this century (it might cease to exist in the 17th century as well, hence it did not existed in the 18th century). Since we do not know when exactly village ceased to exist, the only correct thing we can wrote is that it did not existed in the 18th century. PANONIAN (talk) 14:42, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I see your point now. But your version was still grammatically incorrect. This time I changed it to, "By the first half..." You kept using the form "it did not existed" which is grammatically incorrect. "It did not exist" would have been correct, but I feel that the latest change that I introduced should fix the problem. : ) Regards.
