Inconsistent units[edit]

The distance to most of the Globular clusters in Wikipedia is given in light years. THis one is given in parsecs. Can someone please change this so we have some consistency. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:8003:E448:D401:E8BE:3E5F:C4C2:ACB9 (talk) 04:08, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

NGC 6717, Palomar 9, also known as Abel 9. Who was Abel?[edit]

From my explorations in not-so-recent catalogs of astronomical objects, I discovered the existence of what seems to be the ABEL catalogue of globular clusters (ABEL, without the second L of ABELL). The object known as NGC 6717 and Palomar 9 is also known as Abel 9. Who was Abel? Or... was it a typographical error in the name of the astronomer Abell? If NGC 6717 is indeed known as Abel 9, it could be interesting to include number 9 of this catalog (ABEL) in the article. DannyCaes (talk) 20:45, 1 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
