Untitled[edit]

Is Pyrgos the same site or a different site than Pyrgos Tylissos?

Different site. Pyrgos is a Minoan complex on the south coast of Crete, near Myrtos, whereas Tylissos is a Minoan complex, and a village, near Heraklion on the north coast (which last statement I found here: [1] ). Pyrgos Tylissos is a hill near Tylissos, mostly known for its cave (see: [2] ).

Another geography distinction... I was just reading Aegean Art and Architecture by Donald Preziosi and Louise Hitchcock, and they seemed to indicated that Myrtos and Fournou Korifi were the same place. Is Fournou Korifi in/near Myrtos? --Damate 6 February 2006

Yes it is, have a look here: [3] Cheers, Hippalus 08:05, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Page move[edit]

Considering this article has been a short stub for a long time, and there are many other places with the name Pyrgos (see Pyrgos (disambiguation)), including a city of 30,000 people, I suggest that the disambiguation page be moved to Pyrgos and this moved to Pyrgos (archaeological site) or something like that. It just doesn't seem clear to me that this would be the most likely destination for someone searching for a Pyrgos; which a number of oncoming links that refer to something else seems to bear out. First Edit[edit]

Hey there everybody. I've updated the article by putting more geographical and general information in the introduction. I've also added a new heading to provide a history of the site. I have more plans and ideas for the article you can find on my sand box.[Pyrgos Sandbox Dalila]

Hope you all have a good day! - Dalila DalilaRami

Archaeology Edit[edit]

Hi again everybody. I've added a new photo and information to the article. I added more information in the Archaeology section. I also added two subheadings highlighting the tomb and country house found at the site. I plan on polishing the article by adding more links and photos.

Hope you're all doing well! - Dalila DalilaRami

Final Edit for now[edit]

Hello again! I've added quite an amount of things. I also had to rearrange the 2 photos already in the article but if this was an issue just let me know. I added a "see also" heading with some external links to other Wikipedia articles. One of the links was expired so I deleted it and added 2 more links. I also added 2 more photos. One is a map of the site and the second is a photo of the country house. I also deleted the stub templated because of the edits I've made. If this was a mistake just let me know
