  • First ¶ of Creation is missing ref
  • "during the game's lifespan": is it a single game or a series now?
  • lede: would be worth clarifying what exactly a mini-album has differently from a full soundtrack—is it every track or some tracks or tracks around a theme? The lede would be more useful if it actually distinguished the differences between the releases rather than listing them
  • Is there no album that does both the original and A Realm Reborn? Might be worth clarifying since that was my question by the end of the first ¶
  • Several albums use blu-ray, not sure it's notable for the lede
  • "Blue-ray" typo
  • "Soken's work in taking themes from the original version and previous Final Fantasy games and moving them in a new direction" can be paraphrased, but that's outside GA scope
  • Might be worth establishing early on that XIV refers to the original and A Realm Reborn refers to the reboot—sounds nicer than "the initial"
  • no capital M in "massively"
  • First sentence of Creation needs colon, not semicolon
  • "who had been the sound director for the first version, " want to add that he reprised his role—fits better here than later
  • So why did Soken compose instead of Uematsu?
  • "Uematsu was given the task of creation XIV's score when he was originally contracted to create the theme song for Final Fantasy XIII." of creating, maybe? Still doesn't make sense, though. What's the connection? Were they both in his contract? Say it that way, if so
  • How did the obligations conflict if they were both contracted?
  • "Uermatsu handed the task over": which task?
  • "Despite it being an MMO, Uematsu treated as any other video game project." Not clear why this would make a difference
  • "Compared to previous work within the series, ": his previous work?
  • "The production team did not have a solid idea of what the soundtrack would be," Not sure what this means. What it would sound like? How it would fit into the game?
  • No album art?

Oh, though as to "So why did Soken compose instead of Uematsu?" - Square Enix has never said. If I had to guess, given the fact that they tried to switch up the people behind the second version as much as possible (new director, dev lead, producer, etc.) they probably wanted the music to sound different too, which means a different composer.   • still needed some heavy copyediting for basic clarity
  • " Music from both versions of the game has been released in several albums, though no album contains music from both releases. A pair of mini-albums containing a handful of selected tracks from XIV, Final Fantasy XIV: Battle Tracks and Final Fantasy XIV: Field Tracks, were": didn't it just say that no album contained music from both releases? clarify
  • "when the game first launched" what game?
  • I still don't know the difference between the first two XIV OSTs in the lede (also a run-on sentence)
  • "for both original tracks" awk sentence
  • "conflicting commitments" I still don't see the conflict
  • "considerable freedom while composing the soundtrack, including creating more orchestral tunes": how are these connected? maybe combine with next sentence about freedom?
  • "tunes" sounds informal. Is this what you used in previous articles?
  • "worked as a freelance composer during the project" for Square or for the other projects?
  • added other {{clarify}} tags in the prose. I apologize if it looks pedantic if you were looking for an easy GA, but I just don't understand what was intended to have been communicated in these sections
  • suggestion: "For A Realm Reborn, Soken replaced Uematsu" if you don't know why he was replaced, don't say it as such, and just say that Soken was the primary composer
  • "Soken focused primarily on creating the soundtrack, listening to multiple requests from the team and often creating new tracks on requests." I don't know what this means. Focused on the soundtrack as opposed to? Requests about what? Input? What did he do with it?
  • suggestion: Would be worth establishing earlier on how the reboot differs from the original. It's kind of a surprise to hear that they're not reusing audio assets when in other parts they're presented as being contiguous versions (like an upgrade) where it is surprising that Soken replaced Uematsu, etc. Perhaps this means that "release" is a better choice of words than "version"
  • suggestion: "While most of the tracks had specific guidelines," since the previous ¶ focused so much on freedom, might be worth rephrasing this as not having freedom
  • suggestion: "He also provided vocal work" he sang? Is he a singer?
  • suggestion: "from the original release of Final Fantasy XIV" this should go without saying, but it's confusing to have the names of the games be the same as the soundtracks so it would help to clarify in instances such as this
  • " arrange the field tracks" field recordings? or the album called Field Tracks?
  • "Each was accompanied by special notes" where? liner notes? audio commentary?
  • suggestion: sites that meet WP:ITALICS should be italicized: "Online magazines, newspapers, and news sites with original content should generally be italicized"
  • there are some quotations that are missing immediate citations WP:MINREF
  • "disparaged" is a bit harsh for its use here...
  • suggestion: "were able to download a digital version of the album" ... how?
  • "for portable devices from the purchaser's Blu-ray system" what?
  • "minion" should be linked or explained, as jargon
  • I'd avoid the "comma -ing" construction—very overused
  • punctuation almost always goes outside quotations per WP's use of the British logical quotation WP:QUOTE
