Rectoclysis[edit]

In view of the quote, "The sanatorium has mineral-water treatment rooms for bath, shower and rectoclysis, a physiotherapy room for high-frequency treatment and ultrasonic therapy, a functional treatment room for curative sports and massage"[1] I think rectoclysis may be more an appratus rather than a medical procedure. Perhaps not. Bebestbe (talk) 18:16, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
no, rectoclysis, or proctoclysis, is a procedure. the 'clysis' suffix refers simply to the infusion of liquids. there is, or rather was, also 'hypodermoclysis'. rarely if ever used in human medicine today, but i gather still practiced in veterinary medicine, probably because of the difficulty in finding veins in small furry, scaly or feathered critters.
