Wikipedia is not a newspaper![edit]

Could someone please explain why this deserves an entry in an encyclopedia? Murders happen all the time. The perpetrator and victims are not noteworthy. Wikipiedia is not a newspaper! Every news event does not need, or deserve, an article. Ksoth (talk) 16:44, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, this story is going to be big enough. It's got all the right ingredients - sex, drugs, sadism, dismemberment and bankers leading lives of rock'n'roll hedonistic excess - plus it might get used to highlight issues of migration, ethnic diversity and "dirty" nightlife in Hongkong, and I can assure you there are media and political activists who are not going to miss out on those facets. 83.254.154.164 (talk) 01:00, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The significant news coverage means that this case justifies a Wikipedia entry.Dingowasher (talk) 12:05, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Why are there no photos of the murderer?
