Contradiction[edit]

The article appears to contridict itself in accordance to where Lloywen and Donnel lived and their relationship.

Quote 1: Lloywen and Donnel both lived together with their grandfather in Burrows Road, Kensal Green

Quote 2:Donnel Carty and Delano Brown were, according to Brown, childhood friends since the age of seven who thought of each other as cousins.[17][11] Carty lived with his grandparents in Burrows Road, Kensal Green, and Brown lived with his mother in Rosebank Avenue, Sudbury, north-west London.

I do not know which quote is correct but could somebody please change it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.80.210.5 (talk) 18:08, 27 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Confusion about date[edit]

some news sources report that the murder was on the 12 january others say the 17th and still others say the 21. Though they where arrested on the 18th and there was an appeal for witnesses, so it must have been the 12th. Therefore i ask that unless someone can prove otherwise they do not change the date--Fabio 16:05, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GA hold[edit]

Make the lead a summary of the article, see WP:LEAD. See if you can expand the details more. Footnotes go after punctuation. Rlevse 01:52, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What's "went on to gain a first"? Non-Brits won't know that.Rlevse 23:13, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thats the correct way of defining his achievent in his degree, i'l try to link it to an explination.--FabioTalk 00:16, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Two last items, 1) make the lead two paragraphs and more a summary of the article, 2) can you add to the article? It's rather short. Rlevse 19:19, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, on your secound point it would be rather difficult to add more to the article, there isnt anything else to say on the subject. At least not anything that can be sourced.--FabioTalk 19:29, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any problem with length? Its all cited and covers pretty much everything possible. RHB 19:58, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well i didnt think it was possible but i added some new information, a new section on "political reaction", a sub-section on Donnel carty's cousin and the legacy of a vietnamese school built in pryce's memory. Anything else you think needs doing inorder to bring this up to GA status?--FabioTalk 00:18, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Only that you didn't expand the lead, just put a carriage return. Try to make it have at least one sentence on each major topic, the lead should be a summary of the rest of the article.Rlevse 13:15, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well i think i've done what you've asked for, so is that issue resolved or is there more?--FabioTalk 04:36, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA Pass: nice improvments. For more improvment, flesh out his early life and add the infobox.Rlevse 13:17, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Political reaction[edit]

Does anyone think Political Reaction should go under legacy? Im not intirly sure it needs its own section.--FabioTalk 00:11, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd leave it alone.Rlevse 13:14, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox?[edit]

Does nayone think it would be good to have an infobox, there isnt one for murder victims or lawyers, so im just gonna use a biography one.--FabioTalk 04:30, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Work to become FA[edit]

I'm going to try and bring this article up to featured article status.

If anyone can give any sugestions on how to make this a featured article please help.--FabioTalk 02:22, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Extra image[edit]

no clue where to put it. Must find some space.--FabioTalk 04:35, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming[edit]

Any objections to renaming this article Tom ap Rhys Price? Particularly as it also contains info on his background. AndrewRT(Talk) 23:04, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

why not also change the name to dellano brown or donnel carty??? this isnt an article about any singular person, its about an event and how that event changed things.--FabioTalk 23:09, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the deletion noination was a suggestion that it is renamed. AndrewRT(Talk) 23:17, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually only 2 user "suggested" that, there was no final decision to change the name. Anyway dont you think that it would be a bit strange to have this article named after him if his murderers have about the same amount of bio info on them in the article. But if you feel it should be re-named then your entitled to your opinion, lets see if others support you in that.--FabioTalk 01:49, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tracing[edit]

It seems that Pryce's stolen mobile phone was used by one of the killers. This helped the Police trace at least one of the two. One of the killers seems to have used the mobile phone stolen from Pryce to phone the killers' girl-friend. This gave the Police the number of the girl and the rough situation of the mobile phone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.5.71 (talk) 13:47, 7 May 2008 (UTC) It seems that both stolen mobile phones were used. See the Guardian article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.5.71 (talk) 14:02, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:BLP[edit]

I have removed the section "motivation", as it consisted only of "Ostensibly, the motive was financial. In reality, the two knew that they would get little or nothing and the real motive was racial", with no source. The Biography of Living Persons policy applies here, even if we are discussing convicted murderers. Natalie 23:49, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is very hard to produce sources for secret intentions and motives that are silent, invisible, intangible, odourless and tasteless. The total financial benefit to the two was £50 or £100. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.74.62.19 (talk)
Well, if sources can't be provided then the information doesn't belong in the article. That's just the way it is. Natalie 18:37, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA on hold[edit]

This article has been reviewed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force in an effort to ensure all listed Good articles continue to meet the Good article criteria. In reviewing the article, I have found there are some issues that may need to be addressed.

1) Article contains too many words written in the bold font, which contadicts Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style.

2) The layout is not good. There are a number of very short (one paragraph or even one sentence) subsections, which should be merged. "Family response" subsection is empty. It should be removed or filled in with text.

3) Half of weblinks in refs are dead.

4) One photo (100px-Lloywen_Carty.jpg) is not necessary (article already has a photo of murderers) and should be removed.

I will check back in no less than seven days. If progress is being made and issues are addressed, the article will remain listed as a Good article. Otherwise, it may be delisted (such a decision may be challenged through WP:GAR). If improved after it has been delisted, it may be nominated at WP:GAN. Feel free to drop a message on my talk page if you have any questions, and many thanks for all the hard work that has gone into this article thus far. I have done everything myself, so I will keep this article. Ruslik 07:02, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Tom ap Rhys Pryce CCTV 01.jpg[edit]

Image:Tom ap Rhys Pryce CCTV 01.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 08:19, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistency[edit]

It is variously said in the main article that the two were cousins and were not cousins. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.5.71 (talk) 11:29, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I notice the link to Mathura redirects to this article. That's sadly ironic isn't it. Tim Vickers (talk) 05:47, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thats because of me, its the only place he's mentioned, so there isnt really a better place for his name to go. --FabioTalk 15:12, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Robin Chard[edit]

Why does this murder have an article on Wikipedia, whereas the murder of Robin Chard doesn't have one?

Robin Chard was, like Tom ap Rhys Price, murdered by two youths shortly after leaving public transportation. He deserves to have an article on Wiki. The fact that Chard was a Geordie driving instructor rather than a wealthy London lawyer may have been a factor in the newspaper reporting, but it should not make a difference here. 81.132.151.54 (talk) 19:35, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
