Religion

Does anyone know his religion? It would be interesting to note if he was a Muslim and the richest person in India, seeing that one of the divisons of India/Pakistan was religion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.142.78.250 (talk) 00:29, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

He is a very devout Hindu. Infact , the Ambani's are known to be deeply religious, bordering on superstitious. 59.163.212.195 —Preceding comment was added at 14:52, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Hindu is about as far from Muslim as one can get! Santamoly (talk) 02:03, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Nita Ambani (His wife)

Does anyone else not think it's pretty poor show to have this woman's page redirect to her husbands page? To be fair, we should either have a small bio about her or no page at all. --Ptanham (talk) 14:40, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Full support on it. No need to have page about his wife. It's better to redirect it to her husband..--Muddyb Blast Producer (talk) 07:21, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

someone needs to mention he gifted a jet to his wife on her birthday, and the plush reliance home or house/building/complex with overhanging gardens that is being built. all this in his personal life section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.162.135.169 (talk) 21:12, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

What is a 'grass roots' oil refinery?

Article does not really indicate what that means.Ykral (talk) 05:09, 4 January 2009 (UTC) Please add info about nita ambani

Education

Mukesh Ambani was educated at Abaay Morischa School in Mumbai and completed his graduation with a bachelor`s degree in chemical engineering from the UDCT,now Institute of Chemical Technology,Mumbai. Mukesh later enrolled for an MBA from Stanford University but completed only one year of the two year program and dropped out in the year 1980. Indira Gandhi administration threw open the doors of PFY(Polyester Filament Yarn) manufacturing to the private sector in early 1980. Dhirubhai Ambani applied for a licence to setup PFY manufacturing plant. Inspite of stiff competition from Tatas, Birlas and 43 others, Dhirubhai was awarded the licence. To help him build the PFY plant, Dhirubhai pulled his eldest son Mukesh out of Stanford where he was studying for his MBA. Mukesh Ambani, then dropped out to help his father and initiated Reliance`s backward integration from textiles into polyester fibres and further into petrochemicals. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shashanksingh.1102 (talkShashanksingh.1102 (talk) 20:43, 27 June 2011 (UTC) • contribs) 20:37, 27 June 2011 (UTC) he is the president of pandit deendayal petroleum university.reference www.pdpu.ac.in — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1.39.146.110 (talk) 14:30, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

What does "Er." mean?

In the article, the subject's name is sometimes preceded with "Er.". It also occurs before his son's name. Sometimes there is a space between "Er." and the name and sometimes there is not. What does it mean and how should it be used? Thanks, SchreiberBike (talk) 06:41, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

Well, I found this, "Er. is used before self name by all such Chartered Engineers[India] of IE[India] (sic)" at Regulation and licensure in engineering. Is he a chartered engineer? In the UK (Chartered Engineer (UK)), it requires a master's degree and additional training and experience. The article says Ambani has a BE, which presumably means a bachelor's in engineering. There should be evidence in the article that he is a chartered engineer if the "Er." is used at all and even then it shouldn't be used more than once, just as "Dr." or "Mr." is not generally used in Wikipedia articles. Thanks, SchreiberBike (talk) 07:08, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
I find no evidence on line that Ambani is a chartered engineer. I also find no use outside of Wikipedia and mirrors that Ambani uses the "Er." pre-nominal letters. I'll be bold and remove them from the article. SchreiberBike (talk) 05:32, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi SchreiberBike,

I agree in India Er is informally used for an engineer. And there is no official nomenclature like MR. of DR. I agree with you that we should remove the same from the article. Mananshah15 (talk) 07:07, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedy deleted as pure vandalism or a blatant hoax, because... this article is about one of the richest persons in India. He is quite a well known person and the number of views per day for this article are approx. 1900. Mukesh Ambani has been viewed 174787 times in the last 90 days. This article ranked 2123 in traffic on en.wikipedia.org (as on 16-Feb-14). The article has references for most of the content (41 citations). --GSwarnkar 12:49, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

You do not have to worry about it. The article is not up for deletion. A now blocked user was messing around and put the deletion tag on the article and then removed it themselves a couple of times. GB fan 13:01, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

Thanks a lot for informing!
