Sleep (Part I)[edit]

I found out that "Slowly Growing Deaf" is actually Sleep (Part I), but I can't find a good enough citation, I know this is a fact too, so can someone help me? --Mrmoustache14 (talk) 10:52, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think you can call it a 'fact' when the album cover itself gives the title of the song as 'Slowly Growing Deaf'. I'd think that's the best citation of all.Robbmonster (talk) 11:13, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative metal in the genre section[edit]

Why is "alternative metal" being listed? There's a lot things going on in the album, but alternative rock isn't one of them.

Because this album is funk metal, and funk metal is a subgenre of alternative metal, so that automatically makes this album alternative metal. And this is their most straight forward rock/metal album, it doesn't sound too different from a Primus or Faith No More record. Also alternative metal doesn't always mean alternative rock influenced bands, it's also used for bands which don't fall under any immediate metal category. This album doesn't sound REMOTELY like ANY Faith No More Record. No idea where you plucked that one from.Robbmonster (talk) 07:08, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Genre Discussion[edit]

There's been some controversy over which genres are included here, so I figured it might be good to talk about it. To me, I hear a very experimental mix of many genres, but the predominant sounds of the album would be heavy metal, funk, and ska. Personally, I feel the current listed genres represent that well, and it's also backed up by allmusic and other reliable sources. But if someone wants to be make a case for the contrary, here's a forum to do so. Lynchenberg (talk) 00:14, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If I had my way, there wouldn't be any 'genre' listed at all. The album of far too off-the-wall, diverse, and experimental to be so easily pigeonholed.Robbmonster (talk) 11:15, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
