Needs cites, sources and editing[edit]

This article could be essentially deleted because it is so lacking in inline citations to Reliable Sources to support the attribution of credit to numerous individuals.Parkwells (talk) 19:53, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Needs focus[edit]

The article seems to jump all over - describing the landscape, wildllife and topography before discussing the efforts to acquire and create the preserve. The early part of the article should be about creation of the preserve, as it is very confusing. Isn't this the focus? Not Jeremiah Morgan, who is a namesake simply because he was there early and got a huge amount of land.Parkwells (talk) 19:59, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Editing for chronology[edit]

Two articles may be needed, but this one was dominated by content about Morgan Territory Regional Preserve (including the sign for the entrance, which does not appear in the named article about the preserve), the history of people responsible for getting it developed, and related areas (some that went to the state park and some that became part of the expanded preserve, but noted in confusing fashion) even before my edits in 2020. That is why I directed the edits as I did, based on the predominance of content here. Before we get into discussion about having two articles, I edited this one today to try to clarify chronology and who or what organization was buying what - and how it was divided, especially between the Preserve and the Mt. Diablo State Park. Nearby Los Vaqueros Reservoir and watershed, and Round Valley Regional Preserve were other examples of preservation by EBRPD. Parkwells (talk) 16:51, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect article to focus on history[edit]

My edits in the Lead suggest a direction for this article, based on discussion at Morgan Territory Regional Preserve. I think the Infobox should be changed to reflect Morgan Territory rather than the preserve. It would seem appropriate to add more about the indigenous peoples who preceded Morgan in this territory, even if it was named for him later by Anglo-Americans. Most of the detailed information about the Regional Preserve should properly go in that article, with only a brief summary here - for mid-20th century and later uses.Parkwells (talk) 13:42, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
