Edit Request[edit]

Hi, this is Eloise from Moonbug Entertainment. I have a few updates and other changes to the article that I'd like to propose here, so thanks in advance for considering them. Pinging BengkelBerkah05 who wrote most of the current version and Soap who also appears to be active in this area.

  1. For the lead section, I'm not suggesting any major changes, just several small tweaks and updates for accuracy and completeness. Here is my proposed new version:
    Moonbug Entertainment /muːnˌbʌɡ/ (also known as just Moonbug, stylised as all-lowercase moonbug) is a global media company based in London, with a second office in Los Angeles,[1] which creates, produces, and distributes children's video and audio content. Moonbug also owns children's YouTube channels, including third-most subscribed channel on YouTube Cocomelon, as well as Little Baby Bum, Mia's Magic Playground and My Magic Pet Morphle.
    Some shows are distributed by Moonbug on YouTube, including BoBoiBoy Galaxy and Care Bears: Unlock the Magic. Since being founded in 2018, the company has acquired many series and franchises across animation, live-action and puppets. Moonbug shows can also be found on Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Sky, Roku, Kidoodle and many other streaming services.[2] Moonbug programming is distributed on more than 100 platforms and is available in 26 languages around the world.[3]
  2. For the first part of the History section:
    • In the first paragraph, change "president of Maker Studios" to "president of international at Maker Studios"[4] and change "Wildbrain Spark" to "Wildbrain (now Wildbrain Spark)"
    • In the second sentence, delete the words "until 13 November 2018" as this is a superfluous detail.
    • Remove the third sentence altogether as the sentence is about Rechtman's personal business dealings and has nothing to do with the history of Moonbug.

 Partly done: @Eloise Moonbug: I am marking this request as partly done. Since requested, most of item 2 appears to have been done. I made some of the changes recommended in item 1 (the lead). I encourage you to build consensus for the uncompleted portions. I can go into more detail on my reasoning, but the general explanation is that the changes are at least slightly controversial. Additional edit requests[edit]

I have a few additional changes to propose for the article, but first I would like to thank BengkelBerkah05 and Soap for the helpful edits they made to the article and hope they do not mind once again being called upon to implement the following edit requests.

  1. Please add the following statements with sources to the end of the History section:
    • Simon Phillips, former Disney, Marvel and Pokémon licensing veteran was hired as Moonbug's senior in-house licensing advisor in February 2020.[1][2]
    • In December 2020 Moonbug appointed former vice president of children's programming for Disney Channels in Europe and Africa/UK & Ireland, David Levine, to head the studio.[3]
  2. Please add the following sentence to the Partnership section, after the sentence that begins "In February 2020," and ends "…was bought by Moonbug."
    • In April 2020 Moonbug partnered with Chinese video platform Xigua Video to bring Little Baby Bum to a Chinese audience. Later that year, in September, the company signed another distribution deal with Tencent Video, a streaming platform owned by the Chinese internet company Tencent, to host four of Moonbug's programs: Go Buster, Playtime with Twinkle, KiiYii, and The Sharksons.[4]
  3. Since you did not mention whether you decided not to implement the following requests, or if you just inadvertently did not implement, I would like to ask you to please make the following corrections in the first part of the History section:
    • Please change "Wildbrain Spark" to "Wildbrain (now Wildbrain Spark)"
    • In the second sentence please delete "until November 13 2018" which is an extra, unnecessary detail.

Eloise Moonbug Would you feel comfortable re-working the entire section and posting it here with the sentences you want to add in place? Ive looked at this several times, and it seems that there's a couple of different ways to interpret the first one .... and that you say Partnerships but the paragraph you want is under Acquisitions. The content of the edits seems good to me, though I admit I've always been more of a maintenance editor than a content creator, and that there are a lot of things that I, despite my many years on Wikipedia, still do not know.

Thank you Soap for your help. I don't mind at all re-working the entire section as you requested if that makes it easier to have the edits implemented. The following is how I would like to see the first part of the history section:
  1. Please replace the first part of the History section, before the Acquisitions section begins with the following:
    Moonbug Entertainment was co-founded in 2018 by the former president of international at Maker Studios (now Disney Digital Network),[1] René Rechtman; and former managing director of Wildbrain (now WildBrain Spark), John Robson.[2] The company was incorporated on 9 February 2018, under the name Project ABC Holdings Limited.[3] Simon Phillips, former Disney, Marvel and Pokémon licensing veteran was hired as Moonbug's senior in-house licensing advisor in February 2020.[4][5] In December 2020 Moonbug appointed former vice president of children’s programming for Disney Channels in Europe and Africa/UK & Ireland, David Levine, to head the studio.[6][7]
  2. In the Partnerships with Moonbug section, please replace what is there now with the following:
    On 13 October 2019, Moonbug signed a content deal with Nordic Entertainment Group to create an animated series entitled Mia's Magic Playground.[a][8] On 24 August 2020, Moonbug announced a partnership with HBO Max to release Moonbug's original series Mia's Magic Playground, which consists of 24 episodes.[9][10] On the same day, Moonbug also announced another partnership with MGA Entertainment to create an animated series based on the Cozy Coupe toy line, titled Let's Go Cozy Coupe.[11]
    In April 2020 Moonbug partnered with Chinese video platform Xigua Video to bring Little Baby Bum to a Chinese audience. Later that year, in September, the company signed another distribution deal with Tencent Video, a streaming platform owned by the Chinese internet company Tencent, to host four of Moonbug's programs: Go Buster, Playtime with Twinkle, KiiYii, and The Sharksons.[12]
    On 18 August 2020, it was confirmed that Moonbug had signed a deal with Cloudco Entertainment to operate the Care Bears YouTube channel and to co-produce a web series based on the franchise, titled Care Bears: Unlock the Music.[13] Three days later, Moonbug launched Little Baby Bum channel on Pluto TV.[14]
    On 23 September 2020, Moonbug announced an agreement with Virgin Media to distribute its shows.[15] On 7 January 2021, Moonbug Entertainment and licensing company The Point. 1888 secured six companies for Blippi-branded merchandise.[16][17] On 3 February 2021, Moonbug Entertainment partnered with children's TV channel Spacetoon to distribute its shows via Spacetoon Go.[18]

  • The lead paragraph needs a few small changes to make it perfect. The easiest way to make those changes is to just copy and paste the following in place of the content that is there now.

  • In the Partnerships with Moonbug section, please add the following directly after the line which ends "Blippi-branded merchandise." And directly in front of the line which begins, "On 3 February 2021, Moonbug Entertainment..."
A partnership with global talent and entertainment company United Talent Agency was formed in September 2020 to expand domestic publishing and video game rights of kids' products in North America.[3]
In January 2021 "Future Today," a publishing platform, expanded its partnership with Moonbug when it launched five omni-platform streaming channels to host Moonbug's most-watched children's series, including Blippi, CoComelon, Little Baby Bum, My Magic Pet Morphle and Supa Strikas.[4][5][6] Moonbug also partnered with Jazwares, Creative Kids, Texco, Round Room and DJ Murphy to create Blippi branded products.[7]
Also in January 2021, Moonbug also launched a partnership with Poetic Brands to create branded children's clothing based on Moonbug's program Blippi.[8] [9] Other licenses acquired by The Point.1888 for Blippi are: Scholastic Publishers, as a master publisher; Misirli, an underwear company, to manufacture Blippi branded socks; TDP Textiles and Aykroyds & Sons, manufacturers of swimwear and nightwear, to make Blippi bathing suits and pajamas; RMS International, to create puzzles;[7] and Zak to make branded lunch boxes.[10] Wow!Stuff launched a partnership with Moonbug to create electronic toys based on the CoComelon brand.[11] Later that month, the company appointed Redibra, a brand licensing company, to be the licensing agent for its properties in Brazil.[12]

Hi BengkelBerkah05 and Soap. I would like to express my appreciation for all the work you have done so far on this page. The article is looking great and I only have a few more requests to get the article to a good state as far as being up-to-date, complete and well-written.

  1. Please change the name of the "Units" heading to "Divisions" This is the more accepted and common usage.
  2. In the newly named "Divisions" section, in the first section called "Moonbug Kids" please change that section to the following text, since the current text implies, incorrectly, that YouTube is the "primary" platform for Moonbug kids. "Moonbug Kids is a multi-channel network owned by Moonbug Entertainment. Moonbug Kids channels can be found on YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, Roku, Prime Video,[1] Sky UK,[2] Joyn (Germany),[3] and Mediaset (Italy).[4] On YouTube, this consists of 22 main channels branded as Moonbug Kids (e.g. Moonbug Kids – After School Club – Kids Cartoons), while 12 other channels are in other languages, including sign language."
  3. The following section called "Shows" should be changed to "Other shows". A few small corrections to the paragraph can be incorporated easily by replacing what is there now with the following: "Many of Moonbug’s shows were aired on YouTube and other streaming media services. However, Moonbug’s version of Arpo: The Robot for All Kids was also aired on the Pakistani-based children's interest channel Champion TV. [5] Moonbug hosted several shows not created by Moonbug including BoBoiBoy Galaxy, Care Bears: Unlock the Magic, Thomas & Friends, and Mr. Bean."
