We are continuing to gather resources and information to add to this page. We intend to give an overview of the current demographics of Native Americans in the US, because they are a noted segment of the population. We will then provide general information, with a concentration on statistical analysis, on other social statistics of health, economy, and more. All of the information will be gathered from accredited academic texts without any original research. To whom it may concern, My mother A Hawaiian Native from Hawaii, met a Navajo native man round 1958-1959 in Arizona. Which he is my biological father. His name is Earl William Dixon. I know I have other relatives out there in Navajo Nation around Arizona. I am trying to locate them and my real father. Can anyone from the Navajo Nation help me locate my real father. Im trying to close old secret doors from the past to start the healing process of life. I am now 58 yrs old. My mothers name was back then, Matilda Kawailani Puglinawan. He should be now round 57 or so. My name is, Keith Darrel Brezee. Clarification or Inconsistency?[edit]

In the first paragraph of the General Demographics the article states: "According to 2008 US Census projections, those who are Native American and Alaska Natives alone number 3.08 million of the total US population ...." But the next paragraph states: "The United States Census has documented 1.93 million individuals that are American Indian or Alaskan Native alone (not in combination with other races) with specified tribes." These numbers don't match.

Is this apparent inconsistency fully explained by the "with specified tribes" phrase? If so, the latter sentence should perhaps be clarified along the following lines:

The United States Census has documented 3.08 million individuals that are American Indian or Alaskan Native alone (not in combination with other races), of whom 1.93 million are identified by the census to be among (X?) number of specific tribes.

That change would clarify that the other 1.15 million are divided among smaller tribes that are not detailed by the Census Bureau. ---Saranoon (talk) 16:24, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
