Untitled[edit]

A minor point but 1999's winner is Clare Daniel and not Clare Daniels as the Miss Wales website states. I have no citation for this but as she is a family member and we share the same surname I am 100% confident of my change to the article Adam777 22:39, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Tripple Crown beauty: Miss Wales, Miss Uniyed Kingdon and Miss Intercontinental[edit]

Elizabeth Ann Jones Miss UK 1979-Few holders of this Title enjoyed the success of Ann Jones, as she was know, of Welshpool Powys, Mid-Wales, earlier Miss Wales and Miss Intercontinental. Miss Jones raised more money for charitable causes than any other Miss UK. She launched the New Uniform of 1979 for the WRVS, no mean item of news it made all the TV Networks main News and featured on every UK National Newspaper front page, in the case of the Daily Mail the Centre Page spread also. She was the primary representative of the United Kingdom, for the centenary celebration of Isandlwana (Zulu War) as her Great Grandfather was the youngest recipient of the Victoria Cross at Rorkes Drift. She was guest of Honour at Wrexham Racecourse Football Ground when Wales played Germany. There were many unique or special awards heaped on Miss Jones as Miss Wales & Miss United Kingdom. On the lighter side it was Anne Jones who introduced her Friend Marry Stevin, Miss World, to George Best and that became a cause celebre. Anne has lived in Acapulco for over 25 yrs. Whilst Miss Wales Anne worked for the Silhouette Underwear manufacturer and featured on several million packets of Bras & Little X girdles, plus swimwear and other garments made by the manufacturer.
