Hispanics[edit]

Why do people keep thinking that just because being mexican or hispanic means that you are brownskinned? Hispanics can be caucasian, black or even of asian heritage. In other words, there is no limit! --

I don't think Hispanics can be Asian unless they have a Hispanic parent and an Asian parent. Asian doesn't indicate a skin tone, but a racial heritage.

hispanic mean someone that can speak spanish, so an asian can be hispanic

I think they're talking about people who are of Spanish/Native American descent. MisterCheese 04:15, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For the villains, can there be small pictures showing them, or even a link on their names. Please!

Alberto Fujimori was a prominent Hispanic Asian. JRSpriggs 06:39, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In America at least, 'hispanic' means of combined Spanish and Native American heritage, i.e. brown-skinned.

The reason why people think of Hispanic meaning skin color is because in the U.S., Hispanic is considered a race separate from Black, White, or Asian. I know this doesn't make sense since, as you said, Hispanics can be black or white, but race is a human creation and often times doesn't make sense.

Black Time?[edit]

Where did that come from? I'm pretty sure the closed captioning said Blacton or something similar.--Veemonkamiya 12:43, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was difficult to make out what Fasto's father was saying. But twice it sounded to me like "Black Time" and once like "Black Power". It never sounded like a variation of "Black Krypton" to me. In any case, the point is that it was a planet where the African-American stereotype was manifested to the highest degree. JRSpriggs 05:53, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
On the other hand, the reference to (housing) "Projects of Soul-itude" (see Fortress of Solitude) tends to support your Superman analogy. JRSpriggs 06:07, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Justification for the tag[edit]

Someone put the tone tag on the page. Please explain your reasoning/justify the tag. 205.188.116.138 04:24, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To User:Edmonde Dantes: I agree with the previous writer. Why did you add the tone tag? This show "Minoriteam" is very funny, light hearted. Saturated with satire and jokes. The article's tone reflects that fact. It would be absurd to write a dry article on a show which exists solely to be funny. JRSpriggs 06:18, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

problems on the page[edit]

1) Why is not allowed to say that Fasto is half alien? There seems to be an almost paranoid reaction to remove it every time it goes on the page.

Because it is redundant and misleading. My version already says "His father is a space-alien from the planet Blackton, which was destroyed by Balactus.". So your statement that he is an alien hybrid is redundant. And it is misleading because it suggests that he is not a normal African-American; but he is normal (aside from his super-speed). The planet Blackton is just a symbol for an extreme form of black culture, which whether you like it or not, is very human.
As far as Dr.Wang is concerned, my version simply states the facts which are shown in the Assimilator espisode, namely that "Dr. Wang gives the team "tea" to drink and then tells them that it is his urine.". Whether it is actually his urine or not is unknown. Whether he collects it or not is unknown. Whether he ever drank it himself is unknown. Yes, Dr.Wang is a jerk, but there is no need to exagerate to make that point. JRSpriggs 07:45, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Minoriteam-Villians.png[edit]
