Untitled[edit]

Millonarios ([The Millionaires] in English) Club is a member of the "Dimayor" association in Colombia which was "expelled" from the FIFA during the early 1950's for contracting with football players without compensating their original teams. This illegal business "maneuver" allowed the team Millonarios to obtain some of the best players in the world at the time: Alfredo D'Stefano, Rossi, Cozzi, Pedernera etc. from Argentina. Also, very good players from England, Uruguay, Brazil, and of course Colombia. The nick name given in Colombia to the team of Millonarios was the "Blue Ballet" because after scoring five goals against the opposite team, the "Millos" will play soccer like a group of dancers, similar to the "Globetrotters" playing Basketball. The team won the championship in Colombia eight times in ten years but they could not compete in international tournaments because of the disqualification by the FIFA. However, the team Millonarios was invited a few times to play friendly games against National Teams preparing for the World Cup. Anecdotally, they beat the Brazilians and the Spanish teams preparing for the “World Cup" so badly that subsequent games were cancelled in both instances. The "Blue Ballet" was disbanded in the late 50's when the Colombian professional league "Dimayor" returned to the FIFA's organization.

Editing[edit]

The club history needs to be expanded and revised (grammatically). I've edited -historical goal scorers- article images- history-stadium-and links.
